Two Out of Four

Imagine: four hands. Four! If we could have maintained uprightness and four hands, consider the possibilities! There is no end to the fascination one can have watching these rhesus monkeys. It’s like looking in a mirror that reflects back 25 million years to where our genetic paths first diverged.

Like us, this monkey has only two hands, but in his case it’s because he lost an opposing arm and leg through some unimaginably terrible accident. Still, he hasn’t seem to have lost his acrobatic edge.

(Note the ever-amusing Timmy making a cameo in the movie above, unaware of the monkey threat just a few feet above.)
